What ASTM standard does KING abide by?

If I am experiencing issues with my tester, what can I do to get help / support?

King welcomes any and all questions our customers may have regarding operations and troubleshooting of the tester. What type of warranty does KING provide?

KING provides a 1-year warranty on all parts and labor from the original date of purchase.

Why is my tester not holding pressure?

The King Portable Brinell Tester is not designed to hold pressure. When testing, pull the pump handle until 3000kg is met and you feel a tension relief in the handle. Once you feel this relief, apply an additional 3 pumps to maintain the pressure level in the reading gauge.

How do I perform an oil change?

1. Remove sac nut and rubber sac.
2. Dispose of current oil by inverting tester upside down to drain.
3. Fill cavity with new oil ensuring oil is covering the two holes in the sump.
4. Pump out ram to 3/8” while maintaining oil level above said holes.
5. Reinstall rubber sac and sac nut.
6. Adjust ram to original position

How and when should I calibrate my tester?

Testers should be calibrated daily on a test block by reading a known indent to ensure the tester is within the required ASTM calibration standards. King provides both a 2×6 test block and 4×4 alphanumeric test block for testing and calibration purposes.
